Albany Medical Center nurses who care for our community are sounding the alarm about a staffing crisis at Albany Med.
While hospital administrators invest in growing their market share, executive pay, and revenue in the Capital Region, they have failed to invest in improving the quality of care they provide the community. They have failed to invest in the hardworking nurses who sacrificed to keep us healthy throughout the pandemic, and continue to work with consistent, chronic levels of understaffing that puts patient safety at risk.
Albany Med is the only Level 1 trauma center in the Capital region and eastern New York state, serving a 17-county area. The most vulnerable patients in Albany and surrounding communities come here to receive care. Albany Med nurses, patients and allies are united in demanding that the hospital invest in improving care by recruiting and retaining more nurses for safe, quality care.
