The New York State Department of Health (DOH) has investigated, cited, and fined Albany Medical Center for more than 500 violations of New York’s safe staffing law. As a penalty, Albany Med must pay $375,000 in fines. Both the number of violations the DOH cited and the fines leveled against Albany Med are the highest of any hospital in New York’s history for understaffing.
Although the DOH has taken action to hold Albany Med accountable, hospital administrators still have NOT listened to the nurses to develop a solution to the staffing crisis or settled the fair contract that capital region nurses and patients deserve.
Tell Dr. McKenna and the Albany Med administration to stop breaking the law, listen to your nurses and settle a fair contract that respects nurses and patients!
Learn more about Albany Med's greed at the Albany Med Quality Care website.
