Ellis Medicine has announced a plan to reduce surgical services at Bellevue Woman's Center and shift these essential healthcare services to Ellis Hospital's main campus, which already suffers from chronic understaffing and an overworked nursing staff.
Closing surgical services at Bellevue Woman’s Center does nothing to improve healthcare services in the capital region and would only make those services more difficult to access, potentially putting patients at risk.
At a time when healthcare services—including women's reproductive health services and Medicaid—are under attack at the federal level, New York State must fight to defend women's health and safe, quality patient care. Join nurses, community advocates, and allies in the fight to save surgical services at Bellevue!
